Come to Bay Area Houston the first weekend of November to
celebrate the 4th Annual Salute to Military Service, hosted by the KemahBoardwalk and the City of Kemah. This
year, Kemah and the Texas Chapter of the Children of the Fallen Soldiers Relief
Fund will be bring over 90 wounded veterans and their families to Kemah for a completely
free weekend of entertainment, food, lodging, and amusement rides on the Kemah
Boardwalk. Major General Allen W. Batschelet, commander of the U.S. Army
Recruiting Command, will be traveling to Kemah to join the festivities, and the
popular All Veteran Parachute Team will Jump into the Boardwalk at 5:30PM on
Saturday, November 2.
There will be a variety of military displays that are free
to the public. Please bring your family
and enjoy the day perusing the displays and showing support for all our
veterans.
In addition to coming out and joining the festivities, you
can also show your support for our veterans by sponsoring the weekend
activities for one of the soldiers. The Children of the Fallen Soldiers Relief
Fund has worked hard gathering donations for food, lodging, and entertainment
for each of the soldiers, garnering considerable support from the City of
Kemah, the Kemah Boardwalk, South Shore Harbour Resort and Conference Center,
and many others, reducing their cost for each soldier to only $218. Please
considering sponsoring one of these soldiers and their families during this
exciting festival dedicated in their honor. To donate online, visit http://www.cfsrf.org/ and click on the button
